Mike Mitchell
Guitar

Born and raised in San Diego, Mike grew up in Ocean Beach. He started playing guitar at age 7 and by middle school was forming bands with friends. While attending Point Loma High he began to play with older musicians in the area and many of the Bands performed in local night clubs during the mid 70’s and early 80’s. Mike worked in the restaurant industry during this time while performing and attending San Diego State University. Focusing on his career in restaurant management he left performing until the early 90’s when friends like Jaime Valle and Eric Lieberman, icons of the local music scene, began to spark his interest in performing again and inviting him to “sit in”. Meeting up with Bill Magee at Bill’s weekly gig at Johnny M’s in 1997, Mike sat in with the band at the invitation of his long time friend Jaspar. “Bill invited me to play whenever I could at the end of that gig, and I have been learning from Bill ever since. It is a dream come true for me to play with Bill and this amazing band of great musicians and friends.”

Bill Ray
Drums

Bill Ray seems to have been born with drumsticks in his hands because he can't remember not playing. His earliest memories are banging on his father's drumset and watching him play. A chip off the old block, Bill was quick to emulate what he saw and has been at it ever since. The passion set afire in his early years has taken him around the world as a drummer, teacher and author.

Never satisfied with the status quo, musically or otherwise, Bill strives to be different in his approach to playing music. This difference comes through not only in his playing but in "Time, Space, & Rhythm," Bill's acclaimed drumming lesson book. A frequent player at Jazz and Blues festivals throughout the USA and Europe, Bill is as comfortable in front of a stadium full of fans as he is jamming with friends in jazz/funk/rock/blues/flamenco bands in a coffee shop or in a studio session.

Bill played drums from 2001-2006 for Ike Turner and played on the Grammy-award winning album "Rising With The Blues". When not playing with Bill Magee, BR continues to work in several areas of the music business including studio drumming, drum instruction/consultation, and promotions/web design for musicians.

Guy Anthony Cariglio
Drums (2001-2006)

Guy began his drumming career in 1967 when he joined the Sunsetters Drum & Bugle Corps in Astoria Oregon. After years of playing in bands in Oregon he decided to move to New England in 1987 where he quickly established himself as a player, businessman, manager and promoter. He was the cofounder of one of the most successful bands in New England "Lucille and the Steamers." They shared the stage with such acts as: Lil Ed and the Blues Imperials, Luther "Guitar Jr." Johnson, Debbie Davies, Roomful of Blues, Maria Muldaur, Michelle Willson, Monster Mike Welch, Koko Taylor, and Mighty Sam McClain. In fact, they played for Mighty Sam's wedding to his wife Sandra.
In 1996 they earned the honor of playing for President Clinton at his reelection campaign fundraiser.
The promotion bug hit and Guy became the CO-promoter of the Blues Palace concert series held at the New Hampshire Performing Arts Center. He also owned his own booking agency and was a partner/talent buyer of The Black Brimmer American Bar and Grill in Manchester, NH all the while working as an advertising executive with The Union Leader/NH Sunday News.
He returned to Oregon in 1999 to care for his elderly Mother. After she passed away Guy decided to head for warmer pastures and moved to San Diego in 2001. He hooked up with Conqueroot recording artist Whitey Conwell and the Tone Kings. Ironically, Guy and Whitey played for the same band (a decade apart) back in Boston and had never met until a chance encounter in San Diego. The Tone Kings played between 20-25 nights a month and whenever an opening appeared, Guy could be found filling in for Michele Lundeen and Blues Streak, Ronnie Lane and the Texas Twisters, LA Jones and the Blues Messengers and many others.
In April of 2004 Guy met Bill Magee and was invited to sit in. The rest, as they say, is history. If you'd like to contact Guy, feel free to email him at gcar54@cox.net
